In early June, Captain Michael and I took a trip out of Portland, ME. This time we passed up Jewel Island and instead anchored in a small cove on Orr's Island. We visited my childhood friend, Steve McKay. I hadn't seen him in a long time, since his mom passed away and he moved to Maine. It was a pleasure to see he has a cozy house nestled in an almost rural setting and some very nice and obviously devoted good friends. We enjoyed dinner with some of his friends after taking a hike on a nature preserve just down the road from his house. We invited him for a sail the next day, but seasickness took its toll, as it sometimes does. We had to say goodbye to Steve in Christmas Cove after a tough day. We did enjoy a break from the motion on Damariscove Island, which Steve enjoyed seeing. Additional photos and videos on photo album and video site. |
