Hi Jim,
Yes, I received the oar in great condition, amazing given the abuse of going ashore on the rocks in Nova Scotia. Thanks again for all your help. My friends have enjoyed the story, as well. Email is part of it, but I think many of my friends also see it as a story of good luck and good people. I sent an email a few days ago, but just in case I sent to the wrong place, I sent you US $30.00 which doesn't cover all the trouble you went to. Also, the oar made it to me, although it took a detour for a while due to being mixed up with a shipment of curtain rods bound for Martha's Vineyard. So the oar took one last detour before making it back to Nantucket. Have a great vacation. I hope not to leave any more nice boat equipment out there for you to find, as much as I enjoyed our little yarn.
Best Regards, Bill Wraith

Good Day,
I trust you received the oar and that it was not damaged in transit.
It has made a good story, one which I have enjoyed telling as an
illustration of the power of e-mail. We will be taking our family
vacation over the next three weeks, hopefully doing some cruising
in the process. We will keep a sharp lookout for flotsam and
jetsam but I doubt we will find anything as interesting as your oar
for quite some time... Enjoy the remainder of the summer!
Regards,
